Ayurveda provides us with incredible knowledge to incorporate thousands of Herbs and Spices in our daily diet. Also, provides us with meticulous following of Ayurvedic lifestyle which helps us maintain health, regain strength and vitality.

This week we will learn the Ayurvedic perspective of another favorite Dry fruit of many- CASHEWS
Cashews are native to Brazil. As they are primarily sweet in taste, Cashews are nourishing and help to build strength and regain energy.
Taste and qualities
- Cashews are sweet and astringent in taste
- Cashews are light on digestion
- Cashews have qualities to build stamina, regain strength
- Cashews are nourishing
- They are warm in nature
Dosha perspective
- Cashews pacify Vata dosha
- Due to their warm nature, they pacify Kapha Dosha.

- They are good for people with loss of appetite
- They are anti parasitic – can kill the intestinal parasites
- They are beneficial for people with skin disorders like – scar tissue formation, white patches on skin
- They are beneficial for people with benign tumors
- They help to relieve fatigue
- Cashews help to gain weight.
Cashew & Honey
An easy recipe for Cashews to regain strength and for good memory. Also, this recipe is very beneficial for the Autumn and winter seasons.
Ingredients:
- 4-5 Cashews
- Honey 1 tablespoon
- A pinch of ground cardamom powder
- Ghee 1 teaspoon
Recipe:
- Dry roast the Cashews for 2-3 mins on a medium low flame
- Blend the cashews into a coarse powder
- In a small pan put the ghee on a very low flame
- Sauté the cashew powder for 2-3 mins and turn off the flame
- When the mixture becomes warm add the cardamom and mix it in
- Then add some honey to the above mixture and consume it every morning
Consume this as a spoonful or use it as a spread
